The Flag

The flag, 65 feet tall and 120 feet wide, is currently the largest flying American flag in the USA and is visible for 30 miles. The 7,800 square-foot flag weighs over 180 pounds, with each stripe measuring 5 feet in height, and the stars 4 feet from tip to tip. Its 225-foot pole is 4 feet in diameter at the base and weighs 40 tons. The flag is the result of the efforts of the Gaston chapter of the United Veterans of America to express their patriotism. It is also displayed in other states suspended between two cranes for special events.
